Satyagrahis had gathered in Bhopa Bazaar of Chauri Chaura. One of the soldiers had a Gandhi cap trampled under his feet. At this, the satyagrahis got angry and they ran the policemen. The policemen ran and hid in the police station. Satyagrahis surrounded the police station. The police started firing, in which three satyagrahis were killed on the spot. More than 50 people were injured in the incident. Angry revolutionaries set the police post on fire and burnt more than 20 policemen, including Daroga.
