India successfully test-fired its indigenously built air-to-air 'Astra' missile from the Sukhoi 30 MKI aircraft in Odisha on Tuesday. The official statement said that this state-of-the-art missile was fired by the Indian Air Force from its Sukhoi 30 MKI aircraft under experimental testing. It said, "The flying air targets were successfully targeted, demonstrating the capability of the first indigenously built missile to air-to-air."The statement said the missile was monitored through various radars, electro-optical tracking systems, and sensors that confirmed its target penetrations.
