Katrín Jakobsdóttir is best known as the second woman to serve as Prime Minister of Iceland. Before becoming Prime Minister, she was the chairperson of the Left-Green Movement. Johannson worked with the Left-Green Movement, the Progressive Party, the Social Democratic Alliance and the Pirate Party to form a governing coalition. Coalition talks between the four parties began formally in November 2017 but were unsuccessful due to concerns from the Progressive Party that the majority of their coalition would be too thin.
