The climate of India is said to be the best climate of all countries, India's climate can be broadly described as tropical monsoon type. Although there are variations in climatic conditions in the country itself, traditionally, India has six seasons, each of which is for two months. The climate of India is mainly influenced by two seasonal winds - North-East Monsoon and South-West Monsoon. The north-eastern monsoon, commonly known as the winter monsoon. While the southwest monsoon, known as the summer monsoon, the term "monsoon" is derived from the Arabic word 'Mausam' which means a seasonal reversal in the wind direction.
