Swami Vivekananda laid the foundation of Ramakrishna Math, Ramakrishna Mission, and Vedanta Society. He represented India and Hindutva at the World Religious Conference held in Chicago, the US in 1893. Due to the interpretation that he put before the world about Hinduism, he got a lot of attraction to this religion. He was born into an aristocratic Bengali family in Calcutta. Vivekananda was inclined towards spirituality. After Ramakrishna's death, Vivekananda visited the Indian subcontinent extensively and acquired direct knowledge of the prevailing conditions in British India.
