Am I a Dominant or Submissive Personality Quiz
Blood is one of the important components of the body and is composed of plasma and formed elements. Formed elements are composed of Erythrocytes, leukocytes, and platelet. Erythrocytes /RBC are the most abundant cells in the blood (5-5.5millions). The cell of RBC is devoid of the nucleus and biconcave shaped. It contains hemoglobin which gives the red color to blood. Leucocytes/WBC are colorless because it lacks hemoglobin. They are nucleated, 6000-8000 mm-3 in amount and they are categories into granulocytes and agranulocytes. Neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils are granulocytes and lymphocytes and monocytes are agranulocytes. Neutrophils and monocytes' function is to kill the foreign particles and basophils release histamines, serotonin, heparin, etc. Eosinophils resist the infection, lymphocytes (B and T cells) are responsible for immune response. Platelets/thrombocytes are responsible for blood clotting. Let's explore your knowledge about blood.
